84area.com has always supported me so when they asked me to do a photoshoot I was honored... They got one of my favorite photographers to do it , Carla Lopez.... This talented young lady has vision..we shot the photos over at my private art studio on Peters street....this is the first shoot done over there and I hope there will be more to come.... Getting Big....

I'm sitting over here at my art studio with Prophet & Rabbit.. It's crazy to see how humans & animals grow up... I remember when Prophet was just a baby and Rabbit grew up in 2 months...that's crazy!..life is beautiful...God is amazing.

Back to Reality

It was time to leave Asheville and get back to Atlanta... I started getting a little sad because I know what Atlanta has in store for me.... More work, less time to relax and a lot of fake people all wanting to be seen and be stars




Sometimes I miss the simple life of Asheville the only problem there is I hate seeing my people struggling and settling for less...I watch Asheville grow from the outside looking in and it's growing so fast that black people and the poor are getting left behind... But I needed this trip to see my daughters and get inspired again to remind me why I moved to atlanta in the first place...





3 hours later I'm back in Atlanta....a lil sad because I don't want to be in Atlanta but Samba booked me some tattoo appointments so I had to come back here for work...by the time I got back in town it was late and my family was sleep so I went over to my art studio fired up my candles and got myself into a peaceful zone....I put on "Blue Train" by John Coltran...put some weed in my bong.. And worked on that old "Fly High" drawing.. I got bored with that so I started on my "City of Ink Films" logo for my new business I'm starting up











Back to reality....and back in Atlanta home of the bullshit "Black Hollywood" scene....on the positive side, my son is out of school for the summer and I get to see him more....and I go to Chicago for the first time this month.

Both Ears up today!

Today when I woke up Rabbit's other ear up was standing up :-) my pup will be a big dog in no time....he is really good company when I'm working on my book.

Getting there....

I have been hard at work, trying to finish up my book "Before I'm Gone: The Art & Life of Miya Bailey" and getting my art studio together... Tonight I put together a desk my mother bought me for my bday...this new desk will be used for my water colors.... I have been working on a few new styles using different mediums.....I also have a drawing desk from Ikea today that will be used for large illustration work.... I will give yall a sneak preview of my new work very soon...here are a few update pics from my art studio:









These pieces are from Marvel Comics....I'm a HUGE X-Men fan!




My homie, Justin Huff gave me this piece... I love this photography, graphics, & art








My son, Prophet Ayim Bailey did this painting for me when he was 5 years old... I love it




An artist by the name "Blessed" did this oil painting of me and my wife years ago... I got it hanging by the door across from Prophet's painting to always remind why I work so hard... My family is everything to me.. We are "The Bailey Family"

Creating your Surroundings

Creating your own surroundings will always bring you peace....as an artist (and sometimes a writer) the mood has to be right... I'm a visual person so the images I see around me must spark some type of inspiration...everytime I step into my art studio I feel like creating art...in this space I am molding and shaping my own world...I feel we all need that type of space if your a creative soul...happiness is the ability to be happy when your alone....I'm at a very happy place in my life... I have a peaceful home with my wife & son.... City of Ink is doing very well with business and grows bigger and bigger each passing year....and my Art studio is coming along good... All I need to do is hang more art and pick out some nice funiture....only surrounding myself with positive thinkers, my life is getting better and better....
